Hunkered down in Clarencetown!

Hello fellow sailors! We are currently in Clarencetown which is a harbor on Long Island in the Bahamas. We had quite an adventure getting here! Cara and I had not done an overnight double handed until we left Puerto Rico for a 450 mile trip to the Turks and Caicos and then another 180 miles to Clarencetown. (Dedicated posts will come on those two voyages…  Brief recaps are on the tracker page)

So, Althea is currently in Clarencetown harbor on Long Island awaiting another front to blow through! These SW/W/NW fronts were NOT in the brochure! Luckily, the local marina has some entertainment in the form of the sports fish community cleaning their catch (HUGE Wahoo, Tuna and other ocean species) right on the docks and no less than 30 Lemon, Bull, Nurse and Reef sharks coming in to feed on the carcasses. Next was our trip with Becca who came to visit us between rotations as an Ocean Engineer on large dredging projects in the Gulf!

Onward to visit the Davis family on the “Big Island” and a cruise to San Juan. Old San Juan is NOT to be missed.
