Off to Bermuda
We are off the dock!!!
We left at 0800 this morning to a great sendoff by our great friends the MacGillivrays and Stookeys and our daughter Rebecca. Little did we know, but more of our Newport family came out on a center console and followed us all the way to R2 off of Brenton Reef! They even delivered Egg Sandwichs! Thank you Jamie, Trisha, Mike, Libby, Clay, Nancy (aka Snoopy!), Jed and Suzy (from Castle Hill!) DEM had a couple of their cars at the Fort with sirens blaring! We all felt that either everyone was happy to see us leave, or very supportive. I will go with the latter. Just perfect conditions all day today. 13-17 knots beam reaching on Althea with not a cloud in the sky. Just gorgeous. It will get a bit tougher as we move out toward the gulfstream and beyond. Good sailing now though. We will take it when we can get it! Thanks for all the nice IG and FB messages. Next update from the Gulfstream. Brad, Cara, Ken and Melissa.
