Welcome to the Althea_Sailing Blog!
We’re so psyched to be able to have Sail Newport host the Althea_Sailing blog. In these pages, Cara and Brad Read will document some of the refit projects on their Bruckmann 47’ Cutter “Althea” as well as providing more detailed stories of their upcoming adventure to the Caribbean. (Yes, Brad is taking a 6 month sabbatical this winter!!) This blog is linked to the Althea_Sailing Instagram page and Brad’s personal Facebook page. Cara and Brad look forward to sharing some of the upgrades to our boat since they purchased her in 2019, and some of the past and current adventures on the mighty yacht Althea.
The Read’s 2023-24 winter plan is to sail from Newport to Bermuda in late October/Early November where they will take a breather, refuel, reprovision and then find a weather window to head south to the US/BVI! Follow their adventures here and through their Instagram and FB posts.
